Members of Hoosier Health Advocates at IU volunteer their time and talents throughout the year to advocate, fundraise, and serve. Raising awareness for health inequalities and disparities across the globe is our primary focus. Through peer-led education efforts, such as the annual Global Health Symposium, members promote knowledge of health issues among fellow students and the Bloomington community.
We partner with nonprofits in the local Bloomington area, as well as, across the nation. We support these partners by donating our time, money, and energy to their initiatives.
Locally, our members are involved in a variety of service activities, including volunteering at the Shalom Community Center, teaching elementary students about exercise and nutrition with the IU Health G.O.A.L. Program, and packing harm reduction supplies with the Indiana Recovery Alliance.
